Negros Occidental – On July 12, 2023, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Bacolod-Silay Airport Acting Manager Roel Q. Aranzado commended  Mr. Rick John D. Conlu, a janitorial staff at Bacolod-Silay Airport for returning a brown wallet in the arrival waiting area containing almost Php 25,000 including US Dollars worth of cash.

At approximately 10:50 AM on that day, Mr. Conlu found the wallet placed on a communal gang chair in the waiting area. At around 11:20 AM, he immediately notified and handed over the wallet to Sergeant Arquilo, an officer on duty. The wallet was itemized and found to have contained valuable belongings, including a driver’s license, 9,000 Philippine Pesos, and 300 US Dollars.

Mr. Alexander Arnaiz Cadanay, the rightful owner of the wallet, was able to reclaim his lost wallet at the Bacolod-Silay Airport Terminal’s Operation Office. Terminal Supervisor Betsaida Carampatana provided assistance, also serving as a witness together with the on-duty CAAP Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) personnel.

CAAP recognizes and extends its gratitude to Mr. Rick John D. Conlu’s display of honesty, which shows the Authority’s commitment to integrity. Such acts contribute to fostering a trustworthy and safe environment for the airport’s passengers and visitors.
