South Korean Counselor Lee Wonsik together with representatives Kim Jaisuk and Kim Bo Ram from the South Korean Embassy in Manila paid a courtesy call to CAAP Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo on July 6, 2023.

The South Korean officials expressed their gratitude for the hospitality given to 206 South Korean passengers on board a Vietjet flight that diverted to Laoag International Airport last Sunday, July 2, 2023. The flight was en route to Vietnam from South Korea when it was forced to land in Laoag due to a technical problem.

During their visit at the Office of the Director General, the South Korean officials concurred with CAAP in expressing appreciation for the CAAP Airport personnel in Laoag for their quick and efficient response in handling the diverted flight. They also acknowledged the support of the Provincial Government Unit of Ilocos Norte in ensuring the safety and comfort of the passengers.

The courtesy call is a testament to the strong ties between the Philippines and South Korea and shows the importance of cooperation between different agencies in providing excellent service to the public.
