CAAP Press Release

08 March 2024

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines marked its 16th anniversary with meaningful month-long celebrations, organizing a variety of activities at its Central Office and Area Centers across the country.

As part of CAAP’s corporate social responsibility, the CAAP Central donated meals to Pangarap Foundation Inc., Pasay City last March 4, 2024, which were able to feed more than 40 persons sheltered by the said foundation.

CAAP Anniversary aligns with Fire Prevention Month, prompting the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) team at Sangley Airport to conduct a comprehensive Fire Prevention Orientation for all airport personnel, including PNP-AVSEU Police Personnel, OTS Screeners, Private Security Guards, and other concessioner employees. Additionally, the PNP-AVSEU shared basic yet significant knowledge of Gun Safety Rules and Procedures.

Meanwhile, Virac Management recognized personnel who participated in the bloodletting activity by presenting them with certificates, followed by a boodle fight to promote camaraderie within their office.

At Bicol International Airport, a holy mass was conducted followed by the blessing of the Kid’s Play Area and Communal Toilet. Additionally, there was a GAD Agenda Discussion on the Safe Spaces Act for BIA personnel as part of the Women’s Month Celebration, coinciding with the CAAP Anniversary. A feeding activity for grade school students and tree planting is also set on March 19 to give back to the community.

Moreover, personnel from Zamboanga, Masbate, and Laoag International actively joined a collaborative effort to organize a clean-up drive initiative.

CAAP Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo expressed his support by saying, “I commend Area managers and CAAP personnel for conducting various activities to make our 16th anniversary significant. You have shown unity to promote inclusivity and service to the community, aside from accomplishing our goal of providing safe, affordable, and comfortable travel for Filipinos.” CAAP was created 16 years ago to provide safe and efficient air transport and regulatory services in the Philippines, and now it is marching toward Sustainability, Resiliency, and Inclusivity.
