Officials from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) inspected the ongoing development project at the Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) of Baguio (Loakan) Airport on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Some of the airport’s development projects include the PTB’s expansion from 650sqm to 859sqm. From a previous capacity of 85 passengers, the PTB will be able to cater to approximately 141 passengers at any given time.
Additional check-in counters will also be provided and traffic flow of passengers going in and out of the PTB will also be improved. Lactating and prayer rooms will be constructed in its facilities, and solar panels will be installed in the terminal building to further achieve sustainability in its operations.

DOTr Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Atty. Roberto C.O. Lim, DOTr Head of Project Management Office – Aviation Sector Eduardo D.J. Mangalili, CAAP Director General Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo, Deputy Director General for Administration Atty. Danjun G. Lucas, Assistant Director General II for Aerodrome Development and Management Service (ADMS) Col. Valentino A. Dionela, AFP (Ret.), Assistant Director General II for CAAP Security and Intelligence Service MGen. Ricardo C. Banayat, AFP (Ret.), and Loakan Airport Manager Rosito Tamayo, Jr. were among the officials present in the said airport inspection.
