Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo is attending this year’s Changi Aviation Summit and Singapore Airshow. The event, which gathers aviation professionals and enthusiasts all over the world, began with the Changi Aviation Summit on 19 February 2024.

During the event, DG Tamayo met with senior officials of the U.S.’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), including Ms. Katie Thomson, Acting Administrator, to discuss matters of mutual interest between the Philippines and the USA. The FAA also committed to providing support and assistance to the Philippines on matters concerning aviation safety. The FAA will be visiting the country in April 2024 to engage in further collaboration.

DG Tamayo also met with Civil Aviation Authority Singapore (CAAS) Director General Han Kok Juan, to coordinate regarding the chairmanship of the Philippines for the upcoming Asia/Pacific Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Regional Work Group (APANPIRG) meeting.

Accompanying DG Tamayo is Deputy Director General for Administration Atty. Danjun Lucas who met with Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD) Chief Air Traffic Control Officer Mr. Samuel Ng to discuss further collaboration on air traffic and air navigation in view of the recent awarding of NAIA operations and management to a private company.
