To reaffirm its commitment to inclusivity, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) organized a range of events and programs this Pride Month to promote gender equality and diversity in the Philippine aviation industry.

“Here at CAAP, inclusivity is core to everything we do. Guided by our Gender and Development (GAD) program, we’re all about pushing initiatives to ensure everyone’s treated equally. It’s not just something we say; it’s what we stand for. As we host the Directors General of Civil Aviation Asia and Pacific Regions (DGCA) [this October], inclusivity will shine as a key theme. It’s a testament to our commitment to creating a supportive and fair environment for everyone,” Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo said in his message.

Organized by the CAAP Committee on Gender and Development Focal Point System (GADFPS), Central Office employees in Pasay City joined today’s Pride parade, games and activities. Creativity also shined among personnel who participated in the poster-making contest, showing support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Accordingly, the celebration, which transpired in the CAAP Central Office and Area Centers, included GAD activities and educational forums that instilled a comprehensive grasp of gender sensitivity among its personnel and stakeholders.

Information, education, communication (IEC) materials and Malasakit Help Kits were also distributed to arriving and departing passengers in several CAAP airports.
