The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), headed by Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo, recently met with Davao Oriental Governor Niño Sotero Uy, Jr. to discuss long term plans for the development of Mati Airport.

The meeting, held on 23 July 2024, was initiated to kick off collaborative efforts between CAAP and the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental in seeking the needed settlement funds for the lots affected by the airport expansion as well as in the implementation of the P100 million development plan to improve the existing airport terminal area. With the plans ahead, CAAP and Davao Oriental PGU are building together a thriving airport community in the province.
