The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) – Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) successfully underwent its reassessment from December 4 to 8, 2023 in relation to the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) TRAINAIR PLUS Programme.

The CATC has been an associate member of the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS since 2013. Reassessments are conducted at least once every three years (3) or more frequently if deemed necessary in order to ensure that the training center complies with the TRAINAIR Plus membership.

ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Programme was launched in 2010 and it is a cooperative network of training organizations and industry partners working together to develop and deliver ICAO-recognized training packages. The Programme promotes training collaboration aiming to support a safe, secure and sustainable development of global air transport.

During the exit interview of ICAO with Director General Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo, Deputy Director General for Operations Captain Edgardo G. Diaz, and Deputy Director General for Administration Atty. Danjun G. Lucas, the ICAO assessors affirmed that the CATC has complied with the requirements of the Programme. The ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS re-assessment was conducted by Mr. Hervé Touron, Head, Training Assessments and Consultancy Unit and Mr. Rolando Tamayo, ICAO Senior TRAINAIR PLUS Expert. The Chief of Global Aviation Training, Ms. Laura Camastra was also in attendance.
