At approximately 6:20 AM today, 25 May 2025, security personnel assigned at Runway 02 of Pagadian Airport observed an eagle hovering within the airportβs area of responsibility (AOR).
Following the safe departure of Cebu Pacific flight 5J 771, the first flight from Manila to Pagadian today, the eagle was carefully secured and turned over to the Bureau of Animal Industry for proper handling.
No incidents or aircraft damage were reported, and flight operations remain normal.
This shows CAAPβs efforts to manage wildlife hazards effectively, working closely with aviation and environmental authorities. Through routine field checks and immediate on-ground response, the agency helps keep airport operations safe while ensuring proper handling of protected species.
