The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, through its Air Traffic Service (ATS) – Air Traffic Planning and Progression Department (ATPPD), recently started a series of promotional tours in selected schools across the country, particularly those serving as testing centers for the Comprehensive Air Traffic Service (CATS) Course Batch 19.

These activities are in accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organizationโ€™s (ICAO) Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) Initiative, which aims to address the growing need for skilled aviation personnel worldwide.

Last March 26, The ATS conducted promotional tours in Cauayan specifically in Isabela Colleges, Inc. and the Isabela State University – Cauayan Campus to promote the Air Traffic Management Officers (ATMOs) profession. Aside from Cauayan, CAAP has also conducted promotional activities in San Jose Mindoro last March 6 and at the Holy Angel University in Clark last March 11.

In the upcoming weeks, the ATS will be conducting promotional activities in Busuanga (April 28-30), Panglao (April 7-8), Pagadian (April 10), Subic (April 4), and Jolo (TBD).

The campaign raises awareness among students about the major responsibilities of air traffic controllers in ensuring the safety of aviation. Through engaging presentations, lively discussions, and firsthand testimonials from its ATMOs, CAAP hopes to inspire young individuals to consider a career in air traffic management.

โ€œThe primary goal is to really attract and train the next generation of aviation professionals. By bringing our promotional campaign directly to students, we hope to spark their interest and encourage them to pursue this highly rewarding career path,โ€ said Director General LTGEN Raul L Del Rosario AFP (Ret).

The CATS Course, now accepting applications for its 19th batch, offers aspiring individuals a structured nine-month training program that equips them with the technical skills and knowledge necessary for managing air traffic operations.

Interested applicants are encouraged to review the official course announcement, application details, and the list of accredited training centers through the following link: [https://bit.ly/CATS19Information] or refer to the latest announcement on the official CAAP Facebook page.

CAAP invites young men and women to take this opportunity to learn more about this career that directly impacts passenger safety through the safe, orderly, and efficient movement of aircraft in the skies. Those who take on this responsibility will not only experience a dynamic and stimulating work environment but will also find great satisfaction in knowing they are contributing to the seamless flow of air transportation worldwide.
