March 6, 2025
Pasay City β The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) advises all passengers to stay cool and well-hydrated as temperatures continue to rise with the onset of the dry season in the country.
Based on the five-day heat index computed by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) from February 28 to March 3, temperatures at some airport locations have risen to between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius. The affected areas include Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Isabela, Virac, and Masbate.
This summer, along with the anticipated increase in vacation travelers, individuals are urged to prepare for even higher temperatures.
The CAAP, in coordination with its operated airports, is implementing measures to further enhance passenger well-being and comfort during the hot season. Additionally, the Malasakit Help Desk remains available to assist air travelers.
βWe are coordinating with our Area Managers for regular airport monitoring as directed by Secretary Vince Dizon. They are mandated to provide assistance to passengers, especially at airports experiencing the highest temperatures,” said CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul del Rosario.
“Our facilities have proper ventilation to minimize discomfort and health concerns before and after travel,β he added.
The CAAP remains committed to upholding safety standards to ensure the welfare of all passengers and personnel. The agency continues to work closely with its head agency, the Department of Transportation.
