In celebration of the National Women’s Month, CAAP also honored its female leaders by presenting them with bouquets during the flag raising ceremony on 3 March 2025.
The Philippines celebrates National Women’s Month with activities and initiatives spanning the entire month of March. This observance is deeply rooted in the global commemoration of the International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, a tradition born from the early 20th-century activism of women advocating for labor rights and gender equality. Between 1909 and 1911, working women in the United States, united under the National Women’s Trade Union League and other groups, rallied against low wages, insufficient protective legislation, and harsh working conditions.
