On 14 May 2025, members and officials of the PNP Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP), headed by its Director PBGEN Christopher Abecia, visited CAAP to meet with Director General LTGEN Raul Del Rosario AFP (Ret) and discuss areas for collaboration between the two agencies that are safeguarding Philippine airports.
During the meeting held at CAAP’s Central Office in Pasay City, the CAAP and PNP AVSEGROUP discussed pressing matters facing airport security in the country. These matters include improvements and implementation of airport security regulations to prevent and intercept security risk items (SRI) and flying hazards, the standardization of pre-flight inspection procedures in airports, the formulation of an airport emergency plan, and the allocation and establishment of permanent PNP offices in several airports, among others.
With the fruitful discussion, CAAP and the PNP AVSEGROUP, under the leadership of President Bongbong Marcos and DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon, can assure the public and airport-goers that it is working hand in hand in strengthening the safety and security of our airports nationwide.
