The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) welcomed 50 new graduates of the 18th Comprehensive Air Traffic Service (CATS) Course during their commencement exercises held on Friday, 16 May 2025, at the Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC).

In his keynote message, CAAP Director General Lt Gen Raul L Del Rosario AFP (Ret) congratulated the graduates of CATS 18 Batch โ€œMasidlipaw,โ€ recognizing their success in completing one of the most challenging programs offered by CAAP. He commended their perseverance, noting that from an original pool of 76 trainees from across the country, they emerged victorious.

DG Del Rosario also reminded the graduates of their critical responsibility in ensuring the safety of the countryโ€™s airspace and urged them to uphold the values of safety, service, and excellence as they take on real-world challenges. He finally encouraged the batch to carry forward their knowledge to inspire future generations in aviation.

During the ceremony, DG Del Rosario was joined by Air Traffic Service (ATS) Assistant Director General II Ms. Marlene Singson, Human Resource Management Department Chief Ms. Amneris Gabriel, CATC Chief Ms. Gina Marie Lazo, CATC Academic Department Chief Mr. Orlando Constantine Tuliao, and the proud families of the graduates.

The CATS program offers comprehensive training to aspiring air traffic controllers, providing in-depth training to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge required to effectively manage air traffic operations.

Aligned with the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) New Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) initiative, the course aims to address the global aviation professionals shortage and promote sustainable industry growth.
