CAAP Press Release

June 19, 2025

Pasay City β€” The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing aviation safety and regulatory cooperation by hosting the 22nd Steering Committee Meeting of the Cooperative Development of Operational Safety and Continuing Airworthiness Programme – Southeast Asia (COSCAP-SEA) on June 19–20, 2025, in Manila.

The meeting brings together aviation authorities, safety partners and international organizations from across Southeast Asia to review program milestones, align regional priorities, and identify new opportunities to strengthen safety oversight and operational standards through collaborative efforts.

This regional initiative aligns with the Bagong Pilipinas vision of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the Department of Transportation’s commitment to enhancing mobility and public service delivery. By advancing regional cooperation, harmonizing aviation regulations, and implementing shared safety measures, participating states aim to reduce inefficiencies and enhance the overall air travel experience, ultimately giving back valuable time to the flying public.

β€œThe COSCAP-SEA Steering Committee Meeting is a vital platform for our region, which has rapid air traffic expansion and massive potential in the global aviation boom”, said CAAP Director General Ret. Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario.

CAAP remains at the forefront of aviation safety, driving efforts to strengthen regulatory frameworks, enhance oversight capabilities, and build regional capacity in alignment with international standards and best practices.
