To support the digitalization and improvements at the Aeronautical Information Service (AIS), the department is conducting a comprehensive series of AIS Awareness and Data Assessment Workshops across all 12 CAAP Area Centers throughout 2025. The workshop series began in May and will end in November.

Each intensive two-day workshop aims to elevate the knowledge of participating airport personnel, such as airport managers, safety officers, and aerodrome engineers on aeronautical data management standardization, promote digitalization through the adoption of the electronic Aeronautical Information Publication (eAIP), and improve accuracy and reliability of aeronautical information across all Philippine airports, ensuring Philippine airports continues to meet international safety standards.

Through the workshop, participants will also receive specialized training and hands-on exercises using aeronautical data from their specific airports, as well as fundamental training on AIRAC (Aeronautical Information Regulation And Control) procedures.

“This is the first time a workshop of this kind has been launched in this scale and we are happy to have gotten the support of our Director General Del Rosario to conduct this important workshop that will ultimately not only benefit our safety officers and aerodrome engineers but also the flying public,” shared AIS Department Manager Jesseelyn Heje. “The experience of sharing our knowledge and imparting new ways to manage aeronautical data has been energizing for the AIS team and we can see that our participants gained a lot of learnings as well,” Ms. Heje added.

This initiative reflects CAAP’s commitment to the DOTr and the Marcos administration’s vision of a digitally transformed and empowered nation by maintaining the highest aviation safety standards through modern aeronautical information management. By bringing this specialized training directly to each Area Center, CAAP ensures that even regional airports maintain globally-compliant aeronautical information practices.
