Bohol – The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Bohol Panglao International Airport’s newest facility is proud to be certified by the Department of Health (DOH) to be a Mother-Baby Friendly Workplace (MBFW) this Tuesday, May 14.

The new breastfeeding station at the airport, which was completed last January 2024, underwent a process of DOH Accreditation certification in accordance with Republic Act No. 10028, also known as the “Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act.” This initiative was endorsed by the Department of Health (DOH) Regional 7 through the Provincial Health Office of Panglao, Bohol.

Additionally, seminars were conducted for nursing mothers in a separate area, and all necessary documentary requirements were submitted as part of the certification process.

The airport’s breastfeeding station provides a comfortable space for breastfeeding mothers while waiting for their flights. Alongside this, there is also a kid’s play area for young travelers, offering an engaging and enjoyable space within the airport premises.

The accreditation underscores BPIA’s commitment to improving its services for the well-being of the traveling public and their families, ensuring a comfortable travel experience for all.

BPIA ranked among the top 10 busiest CAAP airports in terms of passenger volume in 2023, accommodating 1.5 million passengers.
