Clark, Pampanga – The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation convened today, 05 July 2024, at the Clark International Airport to ink the pioneering Data Provision Agreement (DPA) between CAAP and its external aeronautical data originators.
The agreement formalizes the arrangement between the CAAP Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) and data originator, LIPAD Corp., in guaranteeing the timely and complete provision of aeronautical data and information that is crucial for safe, regular, and efficient air navigation services.
Additionally, the DPA ensures that the aeronautical data and aeronautical information necessary for the safety, regularity, or efficiency of air navigation are made available in a form suitable for the operational requirements of the air traffic management (ATM) community and compliant with the International Civil Aviation Organization Standards and Recommended Practices (ICAO SARPS).
The ceremonial signing of DPA was represented by CAAP Director General Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo and LIPAD President and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Noel F. Manankil.
In his message, DG Tamayo expressed his enthusiasm in the collaboration with the AIS data originators, comprised of airport authorities particularly the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA), Trans Aire Development Holding Corporation (TransAire), and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).
The DPA follows after the Authority released a memorandum circular in October 2023, directing the establishment of formal arrangements with aerodrome operators and external stakeholders who function as data originators providing reliable and timely information to the CAAP-AIS.
