Tacloban City – In a report to Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Captain Jim C. Sydiongco, CAAP Area 8 Manager Dan Abareta shared information on a good deed by a PNP Security Unit (AVSEU) personnel who found and returned a bag full of cash to its rightful owner.
Police Chief Master Sergeant (PCMS) Julie M. Antor, an AVSEU personnel, returned the lost and found bag that contained Php 200,000 cash and other electronic items left by a passenger at Tacloban Airport on 7 May 2022.
The item was found at the terminal’s outside the arrival area and was left behind by Mr. Roderick R. Codog, a passenger that arrived from Manila.
After it was found, the bag was inspected by the PNP Explosive Division before the owner was contacted.
“The event was an admirable act and is the result of coordination and a good working environment that promotes honesty. I believe both the PNP AVSEGROUP and CAAP will continue to work towards making our airports a safe and trustworthy space,” CAAP Director General Captain Jim C. Sydiongco said. The news came as Sydiongco recently met with new AVSEGROUP Director PBGEN. Andre P. Dizon where they discussed continued cooperation between CAAP and the AVSEGROUP.
